Warm and comfortable

I bought this hat over a year ago and wore it all last winter. I really like it and find it warm with the ears down. I have washed this hat and it washes well so I do not u nderstand why some say it is not washable. I would love another colour.

Innovative! Great for cycling and skiing

This is a great design for wearing under a helmet. It's thin enough not to interfere with a helmet, but offers great protection of the ears thanks to the very large side flaps. Excellent design for winter cycling, skiing, etc.

I like that the back piece covering the nape is very long. It covers further down the neck than most hats. This keeps falling snow out of your neck and back! Very nice.

I hope Tilley keeps making these and they catch on with cross-country skiiers especially. Would be great in child size as well.

Writing from the Yukon, I would say this is not for extreme colds. It's a light cap. Not as warm as a fur hat or typical aviator. However it's a great design for fitting under a helmet or wearing over a balaclava.

I am giving 4 stars, not 5, because it would be nice if this was machine washable. A lot of tasks mean sweating in the cold such as shoveling and the gentle hand wash recommended is a bit of a hassle.

The orange colour looks great! Very original and well-designed winter gear. Packs down to tiny size and weighs almost nothing either, which makes it ideal to pack in case of cold.
