This oval shaped, curved brim style is made from sustainable BCI cotton which is processed by the British Millerian Co Ltd where it undergoes a double pass of wax to give the fabric a natural water repellent finish that develops it own unique character over time. The Outback is a handmade heritage hat that is perfect for all weathers providing the highest sun protection rating.

Care

Machine wash delicate or hand wash cold. Use mild detergent. Do not use softeners or bleach. Remove windcord and foam from crown pocket before washing. Reshape and air dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

THE RIGHT FIT

At Tilley, our hats are designed to sit comfortably low on the head. The proper fit should be slightly loose, as gravity will keep your Tilley in place.

Step 1: Wrap a string around the widest part of your head, located 1 to 2 cm above the top of your ears and brow line.

Step 2: Determine the measurement with a ruler, then add 2 cm to the total, for comfort.

Step 3: Convert that final measurement into your hat size in the chart below.

great hat

I have really liked my Outback Waxed Cotton hat. It fits well and has a very comfortable feel to it.

I sometimes forget that I have the hat on my head.

Thanks

Love it. This was an upgrade for a Tilley that my late father owned and it traveled around the world. It had some sun damage and Tilley agreed to provide a new one for free. Even let me keep old one as a keepsake. Thanks to Vanessa 209 who really helped me.
